This inspection is required after work has been performed by:

  • A licensed contractor, or

whenever renovation or repair activities could have disturbed lead-based paint.

During the inspection, the lead inspector will collect dust wipe samples only from the areas where renovation or remodeling work was performed. No additional paint, soil, or water testing is conducted as part of this inspection.

What is the purpose of this inspection?

The inspection verifies that the renovation was completed safely and that no lead contaminants remain after the work is finished. It provides documented proof that the worksite meets required lead safety clearance levels.

Upon successful completion and passing dust sample results, a post-renovation clearance certificate is issued confirming that the contractor or property owner left the area free of lead hazards.
